A Message from Our Pastor

We hope that Rutgers Community Christian Church can be a place you find to be inviting, friendly and comfortable to explore the gospel alongside others.

In all of our work, there are four values that are important to us:

  • Honoring God’s Name
The church, God’s new covenant people, is set apart by her gospel message, sacraments, discipline, great mission, and above all, by her love for God, and by her members’ love for one another and for the lost. For that reason, we desire to foster a community of people who see to glorify God’s name in Sunday worship, but also giving much attention to every aspect of our lives.
  • Teaching God’s Word
We believe that God is a speaking God, and He has disclosed his existence and power in the created order, and supremely revealed himself in the person of his Son, the incarnate Word. We believe that Scripture is the Old and New Testament, which is the only guidance on how we can glorify and enjoy God. Our teaching and preaching in all our worship services and all of our church programs flow out from this sole purpose.
  • Serving God’s People
Recognizing whose created order this is, and because we are citizens of God’s kingdom, we are to love our neighbors as ourselves, doing good to all, especially to those who belong to the household of God. Love for Christ must be matched by love for one another, rather than self-focus. Our communities exist to develop a community of love that reaches out with Christian truths to transform non-Christians and Christians alike.
  • Extending God’s Kingdom
The church is the corporate dwelling place of God’s Spirit, and the continuing witness to God in the world. Christ charged his church with the commission of bringing the gospel to all nations in order that all nations may be offered to the living God. We express this commitment through the missional efforts of our ministries as well as committing to supporting missionaries abroad.

We know visiting a church can be challenging. Questions are natural and welcome. Whether you’re exploring Christianity or a committed believer seeking for greater connection and depth in faith, we welcome you to visit us on Sundays, or any of our events, or in our community groups.
